Success for EU organic food producers

On 18-20 November 2024, Dubai became the centre of the global organic market for the 22nd time at the 22nd edition of the Middle East Organic and Natural Products Expo. Food producers also took part in this prestigious event, showcasing a wide range of products, including fruit, vegetables, honey, meat and dairy products. The speech was part of the EU co-financed campaign “EU Organic Food – Good Choice”, aimed at promoting high quality organic food from Europe.

Exhibitors focused visitors’ attention not only on the taste and nutritional value of their products, but also on sustainable production. As a result, they have gained recognition among local importers and distributors, for whom high quality and ecology are becoming key criteria in the selection of business partners.

One of the events surrounding the fair was a press briefing at The Barnyard restaurant in Dubai. It was attended by representatives from the food sector, local journalists and influencers from the United Arab Emirates.

During the event, Jolanta Lyska, General Director of the Polish Association of Processors and Producers of Organic Products “Polska Ekologia”, presented the assumptions of the programme to promote European organic food on the Middle East market. She also hinted at future activities, including organising a study tour to Europe and participating in Restaurant Week UAE 2025, which is expected to help popularise organic products in the country’s gastronomy.

Representatives from European organic food companies also gave presentations. An additional highlight of the meeting was the tasting of organic herbal teas, fruit juices and cereal products from Europe. Participants had the opportunity to directly experience their exceptional taste and quality.

Tamam Y. I. Abdullach, a celebrity chef and culinary influencer from the UAE, was impressed: “It was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was inspiring thanks to the special guests. The presentations were extremely interesting and the food served was of the highest standard. The team representing the project was extremely friendly and professional.”

The organisers have already announced the next edition of the fair, which will take place from 17-19 November 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event, held under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, remains the most important platform for connecting suppliers and buyers of organic produce in the region.
